Background
Scott is the Managing Principal of SimekScott. He has over twelve years of experience providing clients with state and local income, franchise, gross receipts, sales, use, credits, incentives and property tax advisory services. Scott is a multistate tax practitioner and has advised clients in numerous industries, including retail, extraction, construction, technology, chemicals, medical device, pharmaceuticals, steel, food production, clothing manufacturing, bio-medical, broadcasting, pipeline products, paper manufacturing, and publishing. Scott has provided advice covering general tax controversy, complex audit defense, nexus, state filing methodology, apportionment, corporate transactions, reorganizations, acquisitions, state tax planning and credits and incentives.
Prior to joining SimekScott, Scott was a Principal and state and local tax practice leader for RSM's Minneapolis office. Scott also spent six years with PwC's state and local tax practice in Chicago and Dallas and three years with EY's state and local tax practice in Philadelphia.
